Description and Requirements

This role will act as subject matter expert for the group on aviation cyber security matters – a wide scope from avionics, pilot and crew devices, passenger information and in-flight entertainment systems, engineering and maintenance support, ground-to-air and satcom systems and supporting ground systems across our passenger airlines and IAG cargo.

This will involve engaging with our airlines and the group technology function to ensure that we manage emerging technology risks and comply with evolving regulatory and safety obligations in this exciting and fast moving area.

This is a fascinating role in a rapidly developing area in a group operating several airlines from national flag carriers to low cost operators in under three different national aviation authorities. As international bodies, Airframe manufacturers and national Government Aviation Regulators and cybersecurity authorities update their approaches to managing cyber security to reflect an increasingly networked aviation ecosystem IAG must make sure that:

·       fully understands and complies with existing cyber security requirements relating to aviation;

·       helps to shape new approaches in the sector to cyber security of increasingly networked aircraft

·       influences and is ready for incoming aviation cyber security requirements before they take effect

·       realises potential synergies between airlines in the group in how we approach aviation cyber security

·       align cyber security with the longstanding arrangements for Aviation Safety and Aviation Security roles, governance and reporting.

·       Ensure that our enterprise technology function fully understands the increasing dependencies that eEnabled and networked aircraft have on parts of the enterprise technology estate.
