In addition, you will make an impact in this role by…

·       Providing Finance support & challenge to Director of GBS Financial Operations and Director of GBS People, and their respective Leadership Teams

·       Be the first point of financial control for these teams, including spend vs budget, approving purchase orders, approving recruitment

·       Report on YTD spend versus budget and work with these Directors to identify mitigating actions for any forecast overspends

·       Play a key role in the financial planning process, including forecasting, budgeting and the strategic 5 year plan

·       Build good working relationships with these teams and understand both their short-term goals and longer-term objectives – act as a true business partner across the complete breadth of their activities, assessing the financial impact of decisions being taken and challenging where appropriate

·       Evaluate business cases for extended scope/new activities proposed for GBS; provide financial scrutiny, challenge and recommendations

·       Ensure that model for recharging GBS costs to the OpCos is kept up-to-date and operate a no surprises culture with the OpCo Finance teams

·       Support the wider GBS Finance Transformation project

To achieve in this role, you are likely to have… 

·       University degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent

·       Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)

·       Business Partnering experience (even if gained outside of a business partnering role)

·       Previous exposure to business cases would be beneficial

·       Knowledge of Finance Operations (P2P, RTR, OTC etc) would be an advantage

·       Financial evaluation, influencing, decision making, business acumen

·       The ability to build excellent working relationships across multiple teams and locations

·       Strong communication skills

·       Confidence in challenging senior stakeholders when appropriate

·       Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail

·       Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, as circumstances require
