Finance Business Partner

Location: Krakow, Poland

 Purpose of the role 

In this role you will be providing complete Finance support (and challenge!) to the GBS Procurement team. This team is responsible for all purchasing activities across the Group, which includes everything from aircraft seats and fuel to pilot uniforms and onboard catering. It is an enormous task to make sure that the airline Group has everything it needs to function on a daily basis - in this role you will get an insight into every corner of the airline business and will really ‘feel’ that you work for an airline! Specific tasks will include managing a budget of c.£10m, month end variance analysis, budgeting and rolling forecasts, financial governance for Procurement savings being claimed, ad hoc analysis and projects.

 In addition, you will make an impact in this role by… 

  • Developing a good understanding of Procurement across all categories
  • Building excellent working relationships with Procurement team members across multiple locations (London, Krakow, Madrid, Barcelona, Dublin)
  • Having an agile and flexible working approach – being able to prioritise when faced with many competing demands
  • Supporting the Procurement Leadership Team with their plans for the division, while at the same time becoming a trusted member of that team and being able to challenge them when appropriate
  • Producing clear updates and being able to present/communicate these clearly

To achieve in this role, you are likely to…  

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience working in a financial environment or similar
  • Have experience of dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Be confident and willing to speak up in meetings
  • Have a good knowledge of accounting concepts; possibly have a relevant degree, be a qualified accountant or be working towards a professional accountancy qualification
  • Be fluent in English and have excellent communication skills
  • Be able to prioritise time and work independently, but also be a team player and look out for others
  • Be a proficient user in Excel and SAP, knowledge of Anaplan would be nice to have
